“Starboard Tack” – New Sailing Art on Canvas

I recently finished up Starboard Tack pictured in situ below. This work on canvas is sized at 30″x15″.

Most of these sailing paintings sell quickly. If you have a size you’d like in mind, please let me know, and I’ll be sure to create some in that size as I work on more over the winter.

Did you know that I have an in situ online gallery where you can picture available work hanging in different spaces? Find it here.

Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County on Fine Art America

While organizing Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County themed art for the virtual tour, we created a gallery for this work on Fine Art America as well.  In addition to the artwork featured in my Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County original art sale, you will also find images of originals that have sold.  Click here to visit the gallery.

If you like one of my images, but the original is not available in your preferred size or material, you could consider making a print of the picture.

For example, The Edge, pictured below, is an original on paper sized at 9″x12″.  Fine Art America offers it in a canvas print as large as 22″x30″.

If an original such as Cutting Edge, measuring 3’x4′, is too large for your liking, it can be purchased in smaller sizes and formats.

Other fun products include phone cases, tote bags and shower curtains to name a few.

Finally, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a “fun” product, but if you are in the market for a creative face mask, they offer those as well.

Have some fun browsing the gallery.  If you see an image, but don’t see it as the product you are looking for, please let us know at rhyonke@gmail.com.

Sandy Douglass

Recently I posted some art that I’ve done around sailing on Deep Creek Lake. You can’t talk about this subject without discussing Gordon K. “Sandy” Douglass, who created the Flying Scot – the predominant sailboat on the lake.

I did this piece a while back. This weekend is the annual Sandy Douglass Regatta on the lake. Also, he was recently inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame. I thought it was a good time to post it.

If you want to learn more about Sandy, Chesapeake Bay Magazine published this piece in 2018.
