“Starboard Tack” – New Sailing Art on Canvas

I recently finished up Starboard Tack pictured in situ below. This work on canvas is sized at 30″x15″.

Most of these sailing paintings sell quickly. If you have a size you’d like in mind, please let me know, and I’ll be sure to create some in that size as I work on more over the winter.

Did you know that I have an in situ online gallery where you can picture available work hanging in different spaces? Find it here.

Maryland State Regional Virtual Exhibition

Recently I was nominated for inclusion in the Maryland State Regional Virtual Exhibition Series featuring Western Maryland. The work is presented in an online virtual gallery. The work spans various mediums, with many artists highlighting the beautiful scenery in the western part of Maryland.

Studio Tour Weekend – July 23 & 24

The 2022 Garrett County Artist Studio Tour is a week from today – the weekend of July 23 and 24th.

Visit me at my studio, open from 11 am to 5 pm on both days.  The tour book uses handy QR codes to help you navigate from stop to stop.

Please stop by to see new art and say hello. I look forward to seeing you!

If you’re unable to make next weekend’s event, but would like to check out the new art, I’d be happy to set up another viewing time for you. You can contact me here.

Below is my profile page in the tour book, along with the QR code. Thank you to curlyred for designing the brochure for The Council.

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who stopped out during the Garrett County Arts Council Artist Studio Tour! It was great to open the studio up again to the public. Whether you came to browse or purchase art, it was great to see you all.
We sold work that hadn’t even made it to the website yet, which is always a good thing. Below is By the Mark, which found its way to a new home.

Sailing Inspiration

Earlier this summer, I posted about sailing on Deep Creek Lake and inspiration for my sailboat painting. If you ever wanted to learn more about this group of ardent sailors, an excellent place to start is Ellen Tran’s weekly article in The Garrett County Republican. Ellen reports the weekly race and sailing activity, providing enough detail and photos to feel like you’re almost there. Her latest Sailing the Best View is a good one. Enjoy.
