Pittsburgh View – An Extension of Waterways and Working Boats
This piece, Pittsburgh View, may seem like a departure from my typical subject matter. I spent most of my life living in Pittsburgh, PA. While the region directly influenced my Working Boat and Waterways series, I haven’t created much art of the city itself. This painting is one of two on canvas reflecting the beauty of the city.
My work is now on exhibition at the new Performing Arts Center at Garrett College. This show includes many large pieces and will remain until March 2023.
This Sunday, I’ll be on hand for a reception immediately following the 2:00 pm River City Brass Performance from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.

Recently I was nominated for inclusion in the Maryland State Regional Virtual Exhibition Series featuring Western Maryland. The work is presented in an online virtual gallery. The work spans various mediums, with many artists highlighting the beautiful scenery in the western part of Maryland.

You might remember that I used to do a lot of work around bluegrass music. The Bluegrass Painter is still pickin although my art has not reflected this as of late so much. Here is one I worked on earlier this year, The Festival. I returned to this subject thinking about some of the projects I worked on in the past such as for Delfest, the IBMA and the Red White and Bluegrass Festival.
