Whitecap is another painting based on the scenes on Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County, Maryland. This was painted in last summer’s series and quickly found a new home.

SOLD
I worked on another series of sailboat paintings this summer, based on the scenes around Deep Creek Lake’s thriving Flying Scot community. Cutting Edge is one of the pieces in the series. A few of them sold before the paint dried, but this is still available for purchase at the Garrett County Arts Council’s Gallery Shop.

We were going through some old photos this week and found these from what I think was my first art festival, 1982, in Ocean City, New Jersey. I must not have been getting advice yet from the boss.

Below is a panorama of my “Passages” show at Gilberti Fine Art. It will be on display for two more weeks at the gallery, located in Coraopolis, PA.

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Mercersburg Academy, where I spoke with students in visual arts classes.

The school, located in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, provides an excellent environment for students to pursue most art media, with well-equipped studios and a good selection of classes. Art classes are held in Burgin Center for the Arts at the school. There is some excellent work on display in the Center as well.
The students were engaged, and I enjoyed interacting with them. Thanks to hosting teacher Sydney Caretti and her students for welcoming me
